He attended Holy Cross High School and was a member of the Crusader football team. Al spent many summers at the family fishing camp at East Trout Lake where he became an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed many hours out on the lake. Watching sports was a passion and cheering on the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and Riders was a Lucyshyn family rite of passage. Al loved a spirited debate and was happy to entertain discussions on any topic of interest. He was a natural handyman, and never tired of finding odd projects around the house as well as tinkering with the vehicles.
