<div itemprop="description"><br>Alice was born November 3, 1929 and passed away peacefully from this life on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the age of 86. She was the eldest of six children and was born to Nicholas and Mary Zmud near Prud’homme. She attended Canoe Lake School until Grade 7 when the demands of the family farm required her help. <br> <br>She married Robert Morley Hyland on September 22, 1951 in Saskatoon. <br> <br>Alice was artistic, hard-working, independent and a strong woman with a variety of interests. Alice won many awards for her vegetable gardening, flower arranging, pottery, quilting and sewing. <br> <br>From an early age she had a special love of animals, especially her horse Trigger. Alice was involved with the CN Pensioners’ and Saskatoon Prairieland. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who supported her children and grandchildren with their family life and many activities. <br> <br>Alice is survived by her loving children, Diane (Carl) Glemser, Debra (Robert) Allen, Daryl Hyland, and Donna Hyland; sister, Anne Plummer; grandchildren, Chad Glemser (Erin Hlynsky), Stacey (Daniel) Katzman, Kelsey (Christopher) Bateman, Brandon Gebauer (Samantha Auger), Sarah Horvath and Amanda Horvath and sisters in law, Lucille Zmud and Linda Zmud. <br> <br>Alice was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Morley; parents, Nick and Mary Zmud; sister, Olga Denney; brothers John, William (Bill), and Leslie Zmud; father and mother in-law, Alfred and Ellen Hyland, brothers in law, Kenneth Plummer, Gerald Hyland, John McCullough, Frank Brisbin, Jack Laing, Bill Armstrong; sisters-in-law, Lillian Hyland, Joyce McCullough, Violet Armstrong; and son in law, Beverley Popoff. <br> <br>In honour of our mother, an avid gardener, please share with someone special in your life the gift of flowers. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Luther Riverside Terrace, Parkridge Centre and Sherbrooke Community Centre for their care and support. <br> <br>A celebration of her life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home, east on 8th Street, first right past Briargate Road, on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. <br> <br>To share condolences and memories, visit wwwparkfuneral.ca “Obituaries”.
