Anne Schatz (nee Moldenhauer)
October 28, 1924 - Nov 3, 2016

We will never forget the moment your heart stopped, and ours kept beating.

Mom passed away peacefully at St Ann’s Home in the arms of her children.

She is lovingly remembered by sons Ron (Paulette) and Lorne (Sandra), daughter Marlene (John), her eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous sisters and brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Mom was predeceased by husband, Jack, mother and father, Annatolia and Adam, brothers, John, Roy, and Jake, nephew Larry, and sisters and brothers in-law from both the Moldenhauer and Schatz sides of the family.

Anne will be remembered by her family for her loving and sensitive heart. She loved a good joke and her hearty laugh sits foremost in the memory of many who knew her. Being a prairie girl who was raised on a farm with her father and three older brothers she had duties and responsibilities at an early age that would surprise most people today. She gave new meaning to the word resilience and took all challenges in stride. Growing up with her brothers who she loved deeply, she developed a love for sports and a competitive edge. As a young woman she took up ice hockey and softball, encouraged her children in sports, and up to her death followed all sports on television. Anne had an uncanny ability to look ahead and dispassionately alter her life's course. To her, downsizing was simply a matter-of-fact necessity. Many of these traits have been observed and modeled by her children and grand-children.

Anne received great comfort from the staff at St. Ann’s Home. She would also want to acknowledge the expertise of stoma nurses who greatly assisted in her care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, on Tuesday November 8, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a lunch reception in the parish hall. Mom’s ashes will be interred at Young Cemetery at a later date when the sun is shining and the crops are in bloom.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Anne to St. Ann's Home, 2910 Louise Street, Saskatoon SK, S7J 3L8.

To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries.” Arrangements have been entrusted to Greg Lalach, Park Funeral Chapel, 306.244.2103.
