It is with a profound sense of sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished husband and father Donald Murray Potter on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the age of 91.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Bessie Potter and children Susan Bergen, Leslie Ansell and Richard Potter. Also mourning his loss are his son-in-law Dale Bergen and daughter-in-law Banu Potter.

Don was born in Saskatoon on November 29, 1924 to Sarah and G. W. A. Potter. He was the youngest of their eleven children and was predeceased by his siblings E. Roy, Frances, Gib, Bob, Bill, Mildred, Sally, Eleanor, Johnny and Jessie.

People who knew Don will remember his quick wit and easy-going temperament. He was an excellent athlete. He belonged to the skating club, played hockey up into his late sixties and went on marathon bike rides both in Saskatoon and at his favorite place Waskesiu.

Don served as a navigator in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. This sparked a life-long interest in aircraft. He made many models and had a huge library of aeronautical information.

Even though he was busy with all his activities and hobbies, the center of his life was always his family.
We would like to convey a special thanks to the staff at Central Haven Special Care Home for their loving care and support.

To honor and celebrate Don’s life a Memorial Service will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 – 3rd Avenue North on Saturday May 14 at 2:00 pm.

Donations may be made to Central Haven Special Care Home by accessing the Sherbrooke Foundation website.

To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries”. Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt, Park Funeral Chapel, 306.244.2103.
