<div itemprop="description"> <p> <b> BAYDA, EDWARD </b> </p> <p> Edward Bayda, age 86 years, husband of Katherine passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at St. Paul&rsquo;s Hospital. <br /> Surviving are his loving wife, Katherine; <b> son, Lennard (Doreen) and their children </b> , Clinton &amp; Catherine Bayda (Colton), Kimberley &amp; Marc Coquet (Talon and Nash), and Carlyn &amp; Ray Zanidean (Zayden and Zienna); <b> daughter, Darlene &amp; Garry Fix and their children, </b> Lindsay and Blair Bonin (Sophie), and Graeme Fix; his sister, Pauline Turchenek and by his serveral nieces and nephews. <br /> Edward was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Helen Bayda; sisters and brothers in law, Ann (Steve) Novakowski, Mary (Andrew) Shutiak, Nellie (Nick) Korpan, Frances (Mike) Wasylenko, Jean (Mike) Stadnyk,Tony Turchenek, infant sister and infant brother. <br /> Also surviving are Katherine&rsquo;s brothers and sisters, Ann Thoms, Peter Popowich (Rose Kaminsky), Elsie (Charles) Lozinsky, Fred Popowich, Darlene Bunko, and Olga (Ernie) Thoms; and was predeceased by in laws, Mike (Nettie) Popowich, Elizabeth Popowich, Kay Popowich, Mike Thoms and Mike Bunko. <br /> Edward was born in Smuts district, Saskatchewan on August 22, 1926. He attended Borschiw Rural School and worked on the family farm from a young age. He married Katherine Popowich in 1948 and they lived on the family farm all his life. He served as Sacristan at St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Smuts. He enjoyed a good game of cards, bowling and camping; as well as being a member of the Vonda, Alvena and St. George&rsquo;s Senior Clubs. Edward and Katherine travelled on numerous trips in Canada and USA. <br /> Prayers for Edward will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 from the Ukrainian Catholic Parish Of The Dormition Of The Blessed Mother Of God, 120 &ndash; 105 Street West, Saskatoon, SK.
