We are saddened to announce the passing of our Mom, Eugina on January 3, 2017. She is predeceased by her husband, our Dad; Lloyd Swayze in 1975, her parents Eugene (Bert) and Pearl Sands, her brother Raymond at 10 years of age and sister Louise in infancy, her daughter-in-law Simone Swayze, sons-in-law Hubert Hawkins and Hank Penner, her grandsons Kelsey Ridgewell and Derek Hawkins. Missing her are her 7 children and their spouses: Pearl Hawkins (Arie Breeschooten), Betty Rawlyk (Gerald Miedem), Vivian (Dennis) Skuce, Raymond (Allie Van Schaik) Swayze, Irene (Terry) Metcalfe, June (Ken) Ridgewell, Joanne (Terry) Kachur; 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also will miss our Mom.

Eugina was born on March 14, 1920 in Tate, Saskatchewan. Her early life was on the farm. Mom met the love of her life, Lloyd, at the age of 14…she was smitten and so was he. They married in December 1937. Mom and Dad boarded and worked for farmers in the area moving to Saskatoon in 1940. Mom spent our young years at home then later went to work “on the line” at the Quaker Oats Mill; she did sewing at Crest Craft and constructed drapes for Eaton’s. She was a great cook and took this skill to St. Mary’s Parish priests, to Hope Haven and Calder House clients. After her retirement she volunteered at the Western Development Museum. Eugina was recognized as one of the “100 Volunteers” for Saskatoon’s 100th anniversary. Mom loved to dance. She was a member of the Pattern Dance Club and taught others her expertise on the dance floor. We know our Mom is now ‘dancing with the stars’; our Dad holding her in his arms while she smiles up at him.

There was nothing she enjoyed more than a family gathering watching all the little children grow, listening to her own girls giggling, reminiscing and visiting and Raymond teasing them to no end.

We loved our Mom with our whole heart and she loved us back. She taught us the skills to have a good life by patience and understanding but mainly by example. With her loving arms around us we will continue to live with passion; laugh out loud and love deeply.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Park Funeral Home, 311 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.

In memory of our Mom don your favourite party clothes and your best shoes to wear at her service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries-Contribute”.
