Frances Bidulka (nee Garlicki)
May 1, 1924 - November 12, 2016
Frances Bidulka, age 92 years, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Diamond House, Warman, SK surrounded by her family.
Frances is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Patricia Sopatyk of Saskatoon, SK, Jeanie (Robert) Lalonde of Vonda, SK, Laurie (Dave) Edwards of Wisconsin, USA; sons, Thomas (Lillian) Bidulka of Moose Jaw, SK, James Bidulka of Vonda, SK; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; sister, Lillian Regush of Tolfield, AB; sister-in-law, Mary Garlicki of Detroit, MI USA; also Orest Sopatyk and Glenny Bidulka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William ‘Bill’; her parents, John and Magdalena (Kinar) Garlicki; brothers, Frank, Joseph, Stanley, Ben; and sisters, Mary, Katherine, Jean, Helen.
Frances was born in the Prud’homme district (Esperance), SK on May 1, 1924. She married William Bidulka in 1944 and together they farmed in the Vonda district. Frances dedicated her life to raising her family and to farming, working very hard alongside Bill. She also devoted her time to the community and her church. She was a life-long member of the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Vonda and also the Dormition (St. Mary’s) Parish in Sutherland, Saskatoon. Frances enjoyed cooking, gardening, and will be remembered for her hospitality. She was a proud Baba to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Prayers for Frances will be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Parish of The Dormition of The Blessed Mother of God (St. Mary’s), 120 – 105th St. W. in Sutherland, Saskatoon, on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. The Divine Liturgy will be held at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Vonda, SK on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. André Lalach officiating. Interment will be held at the Vonda Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Vonda, SK.
Memorial donations in Frances’ honour can be made to the Vonda Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery Fund.
