Miles Albert Mannix
December 30, 1949 – March 31, 2017

It is with sadness and heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Miles at St. Paul’s Hospital.

His diabetes led to further complications. He met his fate with dignity and a quiet acceptance.

His big heart never knew when to stop giving and doing for others. To know him was to love him and his gentle but “not quiet” nature. Cheerful, outgoing and caring; kind and generous; loyal. Everyone was his friend.

Miles happily spent his young years living in the Leipzig Hotel owned by his parents until 1961. They then moved to Saskatoon. Due to his many skills, Miles was always self employed as a general contractor. There was nothing he couldn’t do and no tools he didn’t have and gladly loaned out.

His pleasures were cooking, barbecuing, and entertaining friends and their children around the large pond and waterfall he himself built. His favorite holidays included – Mexico, Disney World, White Rock, BC, Bellingham, Washington and Toronto.

Miles will be forever missed by his beloved partner Lilli Edwards. He is survived by sister Betty and brother Vandon. Also special uncles William ‘Hilliard’ (Julieta) Rischynski and Hugh Maffei; aunts Phyllis (Charles), Gladys, and Verna (Lloyd) and their children (cousins) who were very dear to him.

He was predeceased by his loving parents James Vandon (2005) and Mary Pauline (2001) Bell; and dear Aunt Della Maffei (2015).

Special thanks to Dr. Worobetz; St. Paul’s and City Hospitals; CPAS staff and Home Care nurses and MD Ambulance for the compassionate care he received.

Public Visitation and Viewing will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a Public Celebration of Life and Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow, all at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North. Interment of cremated remains will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.

To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries-Contribute”. Arrangements entrusted to James Werezak, Park Funeral Home, 306.244.2103.
