<div itemprop="description">On Saturday evening, February 20, 2016, Nellie, surrounded by her daughters, journeyed on to meet God. <br /><br />Left to mourn are: Christine (Romeo) Paramchuk, Rosalind (Wesley) Hoegi, Lorna (Al) Schneider, Marrianne (Alvin) Sielski, Jackie (Sean) McCullough; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; brother Bill (Ann) Soloway; sister Helen Billesberger; sisters in law Helen Stefaniuk, Doris Karoly; and brother in law Orest Stefaniuk. <br /><br />Predeceased by husband Peter; parents Ann and Joe Soloway; brothers Joe, John, Mike; sisters Olga Hyshka and Lillian Komarniski. <br /><br />Nellie was born near Alvena and educated at Kotzko School, married Peter and together they farmed in Cudworth. Nellie was proud of her heritage, her family, her church, a very ambitious person, she had rich enthusiasm for life. Her careers included hairdressing, hotel owner/operator (HomeTown Motor Inn in St. Walburg), restaurant owner/operator (Touch of Ukraine, Saskatoon), she volunteered in the kitchen for the CWL at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. Could she cook and bake! Her home always smelled of fresh baking and when she visited her grandchildren, she was so proud that they always requested she make those goodies for them. She cherished her friendships with her newfound friends at St. Volodymyr Villa.<br /><br />Dearest Mother, Baba and Friend, we were blessed to have walked by your side and we thank you for filling each of our lives with love, joy and kindness. You will live in our hearts forever.<br />Vichnaya Pamiat! Memory Eternal!<br /><br />Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan. <br /><br />Prayers of Nellie will be held at the Chapel of St. Volodymyr Villa, 3102 Louise Place on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1202 11th Street East on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. with celebrant Rev. Fr. Michael Smolinski, CSsR.
