Pauline Olga Oleniuk (Lazarowich)
June 30, 1920 – November 14, 2015

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Pauline Olga Oleniuk on Saturday, November 14, 2015.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Oleniuk; parents, Wasyl and Annie Lazarowich; two brothers, Walter and Nick; and two sisters, who died during childhood.

Left to mourn are her sons, Fred (Carolyn) and Bill (Heather); grandchildren, Greg, Mark (Nadia), Lauren, Tim (Dana), Trevor (Kathleen); and great-grandson, James.

Pauline was born near Hafford, Saskatchewan and moved to Saskatoon as a young adult. She became involved in the Ukrainian Young Peoples Association where she met her husband to be Harry. They married on September 4, 1949 and had two sons Fred and Bill. Pauline enjoyed her busy life caring for her family, assisting Harry in the corner grocery store they owned up until 1961 and participating in the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of Holy Trinity. It wasn’t long after both sons married that grandchildren began arriving. She spent countless hours babysitting, providing delicious meals, cheering sports teams and attending dance recitals. Pauline still found time to bowl with Harry, entertain friends and family and delve into her artistic talent of Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating. Her life was her family.

Pauline spent this past year in declining health at Sunnyside Adventist Care Centre. The family would like to thank the staff and Special Care Giver Vanita Patel for giving her great comfort and care during this time.

The Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 3rd Avenue North, officiated by Very Rev. Fr. Taras Makowsky. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Orthodox Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of Holy Trinity, 306 Avenue J South, Saskatoon, SK S7L 2K2.

To read this notice and share your memories, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries”.
