<div itemprop="description">VAN DUONG CHAU<br>1928-2016<br><br>Van Duong Chau passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29 at the Saint Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. <br><br>Duong was born in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) City on July 1, 1928. <br><br>He is survived by his spouse To Nu Banh, son, daughters, grandchildren, and in-laws which include Steve Chau, Serena Chau, Tran Siu, Bianca Banh, Richard Siu, Jan Zhang, Jean-Charles Dessertenne and Kingsen Siu. <br><br>He was predeceased by his parents Chau Minh and Minh Lien. <br><br>Duong came to Saskatoon, Canada at the age of 56 with his family from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. <br><br>He worked at Athena Restaurant for a short time, then moved to work in Toronto for about a year before moving back to Saskatoon to be with his family and began working at Saigon 2 Restaurant as an assistant Chef until his retirement. Duong was a very hardworking person who was always pleasant and happy. His favorite hobby is fishing, traveling and being outdoors. He was a kind-hearted and loving person who touched many hearts with a simple smile to his joking personality. Family was always very important to him and seeing all his children graduated from university and having successful jobs was his proudest achievement. <br><br>The Wake will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. Both will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third North.
