On Friday, March 25, 2016 David Jenkins of Cudworth, SK, beloved husband to Pauline, passed away in St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 74 years.

David was born in Liverpool England and moved to Saskatoon in 1976 with his wife and children were he resided until his retirement from SIAST Kelsey Institute, he then moved with his wife to Cudworth where they continued to live until his passing.

David was predeceased by his parents Norman and Elizabeth Jenkins, brother William Jenkins, sister Joyce Ervig, and two infant sisters and one infant brother.

David is survived by his wife of 54 years Pauline and his children David (Deborah), Neil (Rachel), and Justine. David was blessed with five amazing grandchildren, Nyall (Teagan) Jenkins, Sian (Cameron) Jenkins, Tristan Sarjeant-Jenkins, Rowan Sarjeant-Jenkins, Pippa Sarjeant-Jenkins and one great grandson Shaun Robinson. He also leaves behind a brother Tom (Ann) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dad's greatest passion was soccer and Liverpool FC was the only team he supported. From the moment Dad arrived in Saskatoon he became involved with the soccer community both locally and provincially. He also started the first soccer team in Pacific Heights. Dad was an avid player, coach, manager and mentor to many in the soccer community. Dad stayed actively involved with Saskatchewan soccer until the spring of 2015 when he ran his last coaching clinic.

In December 2015 Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer and he fought so bravely and completed his treatments at the beginning of March. We would like to thank the DR’s and nurses at the Cancer Centre and Royal University Hospital who supported Dad throughout his battle. Also the DR's and nurses at St. Paul's in the ICU who took care of Dad as his battle ended. Your support throughout this has been so amazing.

Dad's final wish was to see his Grandson play one more time and touch the sideline and walk away from the game he loved. Dad was unable to fulfill this wish but we know he will be there in spirit.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Cancer Society in support of brain cancer research and support.

Vigil for David will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon, SK with Reverend David Tumback, Celebrant.
