<div itemprop="description">Doris Evelyn Jones<br>March 25, 1925 – December 11, 2016<br><br>Doris passed away peacefully at Extendicare Preston on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the age of 91 years, with her son Wayne at her side. <br><br>Doris was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Jane (Atkinson) Christensen; siblings, Fred, Wilbert, Ellen, William, and Irene; husbands, Russel Plummer and John Jones. <br><br>She is survived by her son, Wayne Plummer; stepson, Ross Jones; stepdaughters, Geraldine Hart, and Sharon Jones; grandson, Mathew Plummer; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. <br><br>Doris was born at Delisle, SK in 1925 on the family farm, where she attended school and later moved with the family to Vancouver, returning in 1976. She was a hard worker all her life and believed in doing a good job always. She enjoyed all kinds of music. Playing the piano and dancing were her greatest pleasures. She and her husband John spent many happy hours volunteering and Old Time dancing at the Fairfield Seniors’ Association. <br><br>Special events in her life were her son Wayne pitching baseball in the Major Leagues, attending her grandson, Mathew’s hockey games and many family weddings and get-togethers with music, singing and much laughter. <br><br>A Memorial Service will be held for Doris on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon. <br><br>The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Extendicare for their kindness and gentleness toward Doris during her short stay there.
