Eileen Marianne Wist
February 7, 1944 – January 27, 2017

It is with extreme sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Eileen Wist.

She was born February 7th, 1944, in Macklin, Saskatchewan.

Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her children; Marcel (Donna), Melinda (Gary), Rick (Shelley), Shannon (Andy), Wayne (Carrie), Byron (Candice) and Karista. She will be dearly missed by her 18 grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Mike Wist, only 26 days prior to her untimely passing.

Eileen instilled her great sense of values and morals in each of her children. She was always there when you needed her, even if you just needed her to listen. She was a dedicated home-maker who moved numerous times with her young family wherever Mike’s career took them. Once they settled in Saskatoon and her kids were old enough, she was able to enjoy a brief career at Robin’s Donuts. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She was especially happy when her grandchildren and great grandchildren stopped by for a visit. In her younger years, she enjoyed figure skating, gymnastics and bowling. Eileen loved dancing and going to Polka Fests with Mike and her many friends. Having so many active children in various sports, she became a “Sports Mom”. In her later years, some of her many hobbies included doing puzzles, bingo and sewing. She loved watching movies, Equestrian, playing games, cards and camping. She was a loving, caring, friendly, family orientated woman; who had touched many people’s lives throughout her 72 year journey.

Please join us in celebrating Eileen’s life at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North on Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5.

To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries-Contribute”.
