She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to John and Elizabeth Harvey.

She was predeceased by her husband Ian, parents John and Elizabeth, son Douglas, step grandson Mark, and her brothers and sisters-in-law.

Left behind to remember her are her son Kenneth, daughter Charlotte Schmidtke (Paul), step grandchildren Cara and Jonathan, and granddaughters Heidi and Lisa.

Betty received her Registered Nursing Degree at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, 1947. She worked as a nurse in Winnipeg, where she met and married Ian. Mum and Dad then moved to Edmonton where she nursed at the Edmonton’s University Hospital. She loved to design houses and loved to garden. She enjoyed having large yards with large flower beds. Betty was always willing to lend a helping hand to all who asked, especially to her neighbours. She loved and was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and their accomplishments. Betty enjoyed keeping track of what her grandchildren were doing as they grew up, asking every day for updates. Helping at the church, and in the community and neighbourhoods where she lived kept her busy.

Her Memorial Service will be held at Third Avenue United Church, 304 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK on Sunday January 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment took place on December 30, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery, with immediate family present. Fresh snow was on the ground and the ground looked clean and white, the way Betty liked it in the winter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Third Avenue United Church, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries-Contribute”.
