“Some souls pass through this lifetime
like a gentle summer rain
They touch our hearts and then return
to heaven once again.”

Like he lived, Emil quietly went home to heaven on September 2, 2014. Waiting there are his parents, Louis and Anna; brothers Maynard and Melvin; sisters, Noreen, Nora, Lillian; and his beloved Hanna.

Left with sad but grateful hearts are wife Margaret and daughter Carmen (Garth).

Emil loved many things – his family, his farm, his church, and his friends.

In his years farming in Valley Park all around knew that he was always willing to lend a hand when needed. A reluctant traveler he still managed to see Norway twice as well as Alaska and both coasts of North America. He enjoyed the trips but would probably have been just as happy at home on the farm with a baseball game on TV.

Special thanks to the great team at Extendicare for taking such good care of Emil in his last months.

A Celebration of Emil’s Life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 323 – 4th Avenue South, Saskatoon, SK, on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Roger Haugen and Pastor Randy Meissner, with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church.

To send online condolences, visit “Obituaries & Tributes”. Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt, Park Funeral Chapel, 306.244.2103.
