It is with deep sorrow we announce that Fran passed away peacefully at Melfort Union Hospital, Melfort, SK on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the age of 65.

Fran is survived by husband, Garry; mother, Johanna Bidulka; daughter, Kim (James) Garchinski; sons, Kell (Kara) Viczko and Kris (Sam) Viczko; grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Sydney, Hunter, Mya and Ryder; siblings, Hope (Mike) Bilinski and Anthony (Herb) Bidulka.

Fran was predeceased by her father Frank Bidulka and parents-in-law George and Tillie Viczko. Fran was born on May 22, 1951 and raised on the family farm near Prud’homme, Saskatchewan. She attended a nearby small rural school for her first year of school and later a one room school near Cudworth where her father, Frank, was the teacher. Fran attended high school in Prud'homme from grades 7 to 10, Sacred Heart Academy in Yorkton for grades 11 and 12, and graduated in 1969. She attended Robertson Business College in Saskatoon. After marrying in 1970, Fran and Garry moved to Melfort where they raised their three children, Kim, Kell and Kristopher.

For nearly forty years Fran operated a licensed daycare centre out of her home. In that time, over two-hundred children lived a part of their formative years in her care. It was important to Fran that for whatever time her daycare kids spent with her, they were not only cared for, but loved as her own. Every birthday and holiday called for a party, and each child’s individual needs were looked after, no matter what it took.

Greatly devoted to both throughout her life, the most important parts of Fran’s life were family and faith. Fran also loved road trips, music, showering loved ones with gifts and that perfect card, celebrating every special occasion – especially Christmas, fishing competitions at Emma Lake, lists, lists, and more lists, cooking for and feeding her family, quiet time on a beach with a good book, attending as many extended family events as possible. She was a “high-tech grandma” never far away from her phone or camera. At the sight of any of her children or grandchildren you could actually see her chest swell with pride and happiness. In her battles with cancer she was a brave, determined, fearless fighter. She cared deeply and loved exuberantly.

With gratitude for the superb care received over the past years from the Saskatoon Cancer Centre and Melfort Hospital, memorial donations ‘in memory of Fran Viczko’ may be made out to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (200-4545 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK S4W 0G3) or North Central Health Foundation (510 Broadway Avenue South, Box 1480, Melfort, SK S0E 1A0).

Prayers for Fran will take place on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 - 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, with Rev. André Lalach officiating. That afternoon Fran will go home, to be laid to final rest behind the little country church across the road from the family farm where she grew up.

To share condolences and memories, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries”.
