<div itemprop="description">George William Allen <br />November 11, 1927 &ndash; January 29, 2015 <br /> <br />George William Allen passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 in St. Paul&rsquo;s Hospital with family by his side at the age of 88 years. <br /> <br />George is survived by his siblings, Jessie (Jack) Nicholson, Herb (Ruby), Harry, Tom (Joyce), Octavia Dandy, and Marjorie (Delbert) Carruthers; brother-in-law, Don Phelan; sister-in-law, Margaret Allen; special nephew, Rob Allen and numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Verna Pigou and Ella Allan. <br /> <br />He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Phelan; brother, Arthur; and brother-in-law, Eric Dandy. <br /> <br />George was born in Loverna, SK on November 11, 1927. He took his schooling in the Smiley area, farmed in Asquith and did trucking as well. George enjoyed curling, golf, pool, and really enjoyed gardening and canning. He was a lifetime member of Asquith Elks Lodge and a member of the Asquith Seniors New Horizons. His truck was always full of women driving them to various functions. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Asquith Cemetery Fund. <br /> <br />The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Asquith United Church, Asquith, SK with interment to follow in Asquith Cemetery. <br /> <br />To view this notice and share your memories, visit www.parkfuneral.ca &ldquo;Obituaries and Tributes&rdquo;.
