<div itemprop="description"><br />Mom passed away Langham Senior Citizen&rsquo;s Home at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Ernest Friend of 49 years, 2 sisters Louise Tuson &amp; Hannah Forsyth &amp; 3 brothers Gerald, Stuart, &amp; Samuel Reid. <br /><br />She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Left to mourn are her 3 daughters and their families, Geraldine (George) Abbott of Radisson, SK, Daren Abbott (Lisa) of Saskatoon, Daren's sons Reid &amp; Nolan, Rick (Miriam) Vida &amp; Joel of Spruce Grove, AB, Cory (Sybil) Hale &amp; Avienda of Ottawa, ON. Brenda (Garry) Edwards, Monica (Bob) Hamm, Brock, Brett, &amp; Chase, Jeff (Terri) Edwards, Greg, Zach, &amp; Josh all of Saskatoon. Dorothy (Robert) Jalbert of Saskatoon, Becky Jalbert, Erika, Alysha La Moal &amp; great great granddaughter Miley Skinner of Saskatoon, Aaron (Charlene) Jalbert, Kate &amp; Taylor of Martensville, Bonnie (Chance) Pendleton, Grace, Kerr &amp; Everett of Yorkton, Brad (Lara) Jalbert, Hayden, Sawyer &amp; Liam of Warman. Brother Gordon Reid of Calgary, AB, sisters Beatrice Ward of Saskatoon, Margurite Adler of Burnaby, BC, Shirley Woodside of Asquith, Marlene (Bill) Swiderski of Turtle Lake, SK and many nieces, nephews &amp; cousins. <br /><br />Mom was born on her grandparents Samuel &amp; Sarah Forsey's farm in the Borden District, she was raised in Argo &amp; Arlee. Mom attended Normal School in Saskatoon, then went on to teach in one-room country schools. Mom married Ernie Friend in 1944, and together they raised their daughters in Perdue. She played the organ at St. Cuthbert&rsquo;s Anglican Church for 35 years, and was a pillar of the Perdue community. In 1975 mom &amp; dad retired on the shores of Jackfish Lake. Very important to mom was her faith, family, music and nature. S she only saw the good in everyone. <br /><br />A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Road). Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
