<div itemprop="description">Jean (Jennie) Zakresky (Nee Sorokowski) <br>June 6, 1922 – September 4, 2016 <br> <br>It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of my mother Jean (Sorokowski) Zakresky at Greenfield Personal Care Home on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the age of 94 years. <br> <br>Jean is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Bernice (Walter) Michalko; three grandchildren, Darlene (Bob) Edmiston, White City, SK, Kathleen (Erik) Chisholm, Paris, France, Patrick (friend Lori) Michalko, Calgary, AB; four great-grandchildren, Sheena (Trevor Lakness) Edmiston, Regina, SK, Devin (Amanda) Edmiston, Yellow Grass, SK, Paige Michalko, Malia Michalko, Calgary, AB; two great-great-grandchildren, Asher Edmiston (Devin) and Carter Lakness (Sheena). She is also survived by her sisters, Nettie Yuzdepski, Stella Atkin and Susan (Walter) Michasiw; and her in-laws, Julius (Victoria) Zakreski, Clara Zakreski, Mary Zakreski, and Natalie Zakreski. <br> <br>Jean was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, John Zakresky on August 5, 1991; her parents, Anton and Yustina Sorokowski; brothers, Mike, Peter, John, Dave, Nicholas, Stephen, Walter; sisters, Mary Dinter, Theresa Sorokowski, Anne Groshko and Olga Hryniuk; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law. <br> <br>Mom and Dad moved to Alvena, farmed for a brief time then moved to Saskatoon in 1951. Mom worked at various jobs including RCMP, care homes, and retired from the Co-op as a cook. She also owned her own business “Jennie’s Café” where you could order homemade perogies, cabbage rolls, hamburgers, and baking. <br> <br>Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Greenfield Personal Care Home for their compassionate care to my Mom. She was very much at home there. <br> <br>Donations in Jennie’s memory can be made to the CNIB of which Mom was a member. <br> <br>Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church, 1902 Munroe Avenue, Saskatoon on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev.
