<div itemprop="description">Maria Emma Churchill (nee Steppat) <br>August 23, 1928 – November 17, 2016 <br> <br>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Emma Churchill (nee Steppat) on November 17, 2016 at Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon. <br> <br>Maria was born on August 23, 1928. In 1950, she married James Churchill and they farmed in the Sandwith and Scentgrass areas. In 1957, James contacted polio and died in 1961. She was also predeceased by parents, Frank and Augusta Steppat and sister, Betty Lund. <br> <br>Maria is lovingly remembered by her son, Jim (Kathleen) Churchill; daughter, Maria Bertrand; daughter, Judy (Joe) Killoran; grandchildren, Wes, Joanne, James (Trish), Darren (Jen), Cory, Shawn, Dwayne (Marnie), Laura; great-grandchildren, Braedan, Dilynn, Elizabeth, Jamison; and extended family including Joe's daughters, Sheila and Glennis and their family. <br> <br>Maria retired from Saskatoon Convalescent Home in 1993 after working there 29 years. She was also a part-time artist and had her work exhibited in Saskatoon and sold to the States, Britain, and Canada. In her retirement she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. <br> <br>The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, officiated by Rev. David Moors. Interment of her ashes will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donate to a personal charity in Maria’s memory. <br> <br>To share memories and condolences, visit www.parkfuneral.ca “Obituaries”.
