She passed away in her own home with her devoted caregivers and family by her side.

Our mother was born Maria (Mary) Boyenko to Fedor and Anna Boyenko on January 1st, 1919 and along with her 5 brothers and 3 sisters, were all raised in a two room house on a farm near Smuts, Saskatchewan. Our mother married Nicholas Maher on November 17th, 1935 and together they raised their four children on a farm in the Aberdeen district. In 1979 they retired and made their home in Saskatoon at which time mom became very involved in her church, St. George’s Cathedral. Mom volunteered her time to the church, St. George’s Hall and to St. George’s Senior Club, and there she was a board member for several years, Mom was also a member of the UCWL. Mom loved to sing so she sang in the church choir and St. Georges’ Senior’s Choir until she was no longer able to.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1983, her daughter in law Mollie in 2014, and by her 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Left to grieve her passing are her children Lawrence, John (Irene), Ann (Dave), Ed (Diana). By her grandchildren Rod (Kim), Shelley (Bruce), Jason, Lori (Tony), Curtis, Terence (Christine), Richard (Claire), Sarah (Ryan); 7 great grandchildren Sydney, Ryan, Tanner, Logan, Rylan, Sawyer, Willow; and her 2 devoted caregivers who loved her as they would their own mother.
