<div itemprop="description"><br />It is with heavy hearts that the families of Nellie Helen Iwasuik (Bilsky) announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the age of 87 at Oliver Lodge. <br /><br />Mom was born August 11, 1927 in Yorkton, SK. <br /><br />She is survived by her loving children, Dwayne (Brenda), and Cheryl; grandchildren, Nathan Iwasuik of Saskatoon, Mark Bristow of The Pas, MB, Bonnie (Brad) Williams of Fox Creek, AB; son-in-law, Brian Bristow of The Pas, MB; great-grandchildren, Torri, Brodey, Kolby Williams of Fox Creek, AB, Brendan Bristow of The Pas, MB; sister-in-law, Lilly (Alfie) Bagg of Fruitvaille, BC; brother-in-law, George (Gloria) Iwasiuk of Prince George, BC; sister-in-law, Anne Reese of Edmonton, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. <br /><br />Mom was predeceased by her husband, Peter; daughter, Patsy Bristow; mother and father, Peter and Anne Bilsky; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dora and Harry Iwasuik; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Irene Bilsky; nephews, Elvin and Ron Bilsky; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Tillie Bilsky; brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, Bill and Alice Iwasuik; brother-in-law, Metro Iwasuik; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Mike Bordayko; and brothers-in-law, Brad Reese and Victor Iwasuik. <br /><br />Mom grew up in Yorkton, SK and went to school at Simpson and St. Mary&rsquo;s Catholic School. After the war Mom married the love of her life Peter on October 26, 1946. In 1959 the family moved to Calgary, AB and Cheryl was born. Shortly after Cheryl was born we moved to Saskatoon where Mom worked at the Dairy Queen, Eaton&rsquo;s and Army and Navy Departments stores, St. Paul&rsquo;s Hospital and as a house wife. <br /><br />Mom was an active member at St. George&rsquo;s Anglican Church for over 50 years where she was involved with the ACW and Vestry. She was also an active member of the Legion 78 TVS Branch. Mom loved to play cards, knit, cook and bake and when we had company over, nobody ever left the table hungry. Mom loved to tell and hear many kinds of jokes. Mom&rsquo;s kind and gentle manner will be missed. <br /><br />Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to all the staff of Oliver Lodge and especially those on the 3rd Floor, their acts of kindness and friendship will not be forgotten. Thank you all from our heart. <br /><br />The Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 and the Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Both services will be held at St. George&rsquo;s Anglican Church, 624 Avenue I South, Saskatoon, SK with The Reverend Emily Carr officiating.
