<div itemprop="description"><br />Ray passed away peacefully at St. Paul&rsquo;s Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. <br /> <br />He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Sharon; daughter, Donna (Paul Leier) Jubin; son, David; grandchildren, Dylan, Shantelle, William, Eric; sister, Irene Marzolf; and many nieces and nephews. <br /> <br />Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Pauline; and brother, George. <br /> <br />Ray started his life in rural Saskatchewan on June 18, 1938. He remained on the farm until he started school and his family moved to Ernfold. In Grade 4 the family moved to Chaplin where Ray completed his schooling, graduating in 1955. While in high school, Ray started working on his resume by working at the local garage. <br /> <br />In 1956, Ray accepted a job in Weyburn with SaskTel. In 1961 he accepted a transfer to Indian Head. The year 1962 saw another milestone; Ray married Sharon Pollock. Sharon and Ray were blessed with two children, Donna in 1965 and David in 1967. Volunteering his time was something Ray did while in Indian Head. He was an Elder of the United Church, a Director on the board of the local Credit Union and President of the local Elks Club. <br /> <br />Ray continued his career with SaskTel and in 1971 accepted a transfer to Saskatoon, retiring in 1991 after 35 years. <br /> <br />Ray joined the Kiwanis Club of Riversdale in 1982. Ray served Riversdale well. He was club secretary for five years; chaired and served on several committees: attendance, inter-club, programs, apple campaign, walkathon, citrus campaign; worked more bingos then he can remember; was a valuable club director for many years; and served as Riversdale President in 1989-1990. <br /> <br />A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, 1:00 p.m. at Mayfair United Church, 902 - 33rd Street West, with Rev. Deb Walker and Rev. Jack Carr officiating.
