The family announces the passing of their mother and grandmother, Helen Lewis on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Parkridge Centre at the age of 94 years.
Helen is survived by her son, Garry (Sue) Taylor, and daughter, Sandra (Murray) Simpson, both of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Greg (Jennifer), David (Michelle), Renee, Janet (Colin), Nicole, Stewart (Meghan); great grandchildren, Morgan, Brody, Bryson, Daniel, Jordan, Jayda, Olivia, Ethan, Juliette, Isabella, Cohen, Helen, Efrayim; sister, Donella (Jim MacMillan); brother, Jack (Bea) Perratt; brother-in-law, Doug Holt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary (Harold) Morris, Jim (Betty) Perratt, and Jean Holt.
Helen was born in Saskatoon and raised in Dodsland area. She graduated from Normal School and taught school for 30 years. She achieved her B.Ed. in 1975, two years after her daughter received hers. Helen enjoyed travelling to fourteen different countries, bowling, bridge, golfing and skiing. She made many friends through square dancing, as well she enjoyed the friends and activities at the Primrose. Above all she enjoyed her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mayfair United Church, 902 33rd Street West, Saskatoon on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Daryl Woods. A Private Family interment of cremated remains will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Donations in Helen’s memory can be made to the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation.
