<div itemprop="description">Clara Irene Gardiner <br />October 11, 1916 &ndash; May 10, 2015 <br /> <br />Clara Irene Gardiner (Cooper) (nee Bates) went home to be with the Lord on May 10th, 2015 in her 99th year. <br /> <br />She was born near Gilbert Plains, MB on October 11, 1916, to William and Margaret Bates, the 7th in a family of 9 children. At the age of 13 years she moved with the family to Porcupine Plain, Sask. where she lived for the next 58 years. She married Richard Charles Cooper and together they raised 5 girls there, first on the dairy farm and then in the local telephone office. With the coming of dial phones to Porcupine the telephone office was closed and Clara found employment with the Co-op Lumber Yard. After retirement Clara moved to Saskatoon, then to Maple Creek when she married Thomas Gardiner in 1988. Tom and Clara moved to The Franklin in Saskatoon in 2001. <br /> <br />Clara leaves behind daughters Ellen Veldhoen, Isabelle (John) Balzer, Elva Cumbers, Linda Gardiner, step-son Blayne (Elaine) Gardiner, grandchildren Donna Veldhoen, Karin (John) Rempel, Melanie Voth, Craig McIntosh, Alison (Frank) Anderson, Gordon (Joanne) Newall, Rick (Deanna) Cumbers, Isaac Gardiner, Fiona Gardiner, Grayham (Bianca) Gardiner, Kyle Gardiner, and 11 great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and their families. <br /> <br />Clara was predeceased by her first husband Richard in 1968, her second husband Tom Gardiner in 2006, grandson Douglas in 1984, daughter Grace Eileen in 2003, sons-in-law Allan McIntosh, Scott Newall, Veryl Veldhoen, Cliff Cumbers, and Myles Gardiner and all of her siblings and their spouses. <br /> <br />A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, officiated by Pastor John Balzer.
